Severe Weather Warnings for St. Louis Area
Confirmed Tornadoes and Storm Damage
The National Weather Service (NWS) has officially confirmed two tornadoes with gust speeds of up to 100 mph in the St. Louis area. These storms have left a wide swath of destruction, stretching from St. Charles County to Jefferson County. Damaged homes and businesses, downed power lines, and uprooted trees are just some of the reported impacts.
Risk of Continued Severe Weather
The NWS has issued a Level 4 moderate risk for severe weather for the southern counties of St. Louis. Residents in these areas should be prepared for additional storms, including tornadoes, hail, and high winds.
The NWS has also confirmed nine tornadoes in the St. Louis area on Thursday, including one with a rating of EF4.
