Bulgaria and Belarus Relegated from UEFA Nations League
Bulgaria Falls to Fourth Tier
The Bulgaria national football team has been relegated to League D, the fourth and lowest tier of the UEFA Nations League, after finishing bottom of their League C group. Bulgaria lost their final match 2-0 away to North Macedonia, condemning them to relegation.
Bulgaria had a disappointing campaign, winning just one of their six matches. They were also defeated 5-0 by Georgia and 3-2 by North Macedonia in their other group matches.
Belarus Also Relegated
Belarus has also been relegated to League D after finishing bottom of their League C group. Belarus lost their final match 2-0 at home to Slovakia, confirming their relegation.
Belarus had a similarly poor campaign to Bulgaria, winning just one of their six matches. They were also defeated 3-0 by Azerbaijan and 2-0 by Slovakia in their other group matches.
Both Teams Disappointed
Both Bulgaria and Belarus will be disappointed with their relegation to League D. They will now have to compete in the play-offs to earn promotion back to League C.
The draw for the play-offs will be held on December 15, 2022. The play-offs will be played in March 2023, with the winners earning promotion to League C.
